We have had a few visitors recently. First my brother LeRoy and his wife Crystal stopped by for a couple days. They drove their motorcycle across Iowa and I think they had a great ride. Here is pic of us at the international gardens in La Crosse on what turn into rainy day-and trip home.
Our friends John and Beth came to visit us with their 4 month old Paul. We were very impressed with Paul, he is one very advanced little 4 month old. If you would like to follow Beth and John's adventures you may follow the link on the left side of this page. And if you are really into blogger, then check out the link on their page to the Hubert Lake misadventures (Beth's dad)-good stuff, or click here:

John and I got out fishing-natch.

Speaking of fishing, if you haven't checked out the warmwater blog yet, you should, again, link on the left.

Samuel is loving life, at least in between his fits of hunger and sleep. When he is awake he almost always has a smile on his face. We love him.

Halene has transitioned from her crib to a big bed. The first night she fell off the end of the bed with some crying at about midnight, the second night she fell off the corner, again crying, but not until 3:00. The 3rd night she fell off the side of the bed and just asked me to come help her at 4:30. Last night she made it through the night, woke up and turned on the little lamp by her bed in the morning. Wait, this just in, Halene just fell off the bed as I finished that last sentence, I put her back in, laid with her for a couple of minutes, and now I'm back.
The big news on our end is that we've all but bought a house. We have had all the inspections and testing done and it has passed with flying colors, and we have locked in our loan rate. We are moving north of La Crosse to a house on the Black River. We have 100 feet of frontage on the river, which holds smallmouth bass, pike, catfish, and musky. Across the river is 4,000 acres of wildlife refuge with wood ducks and deer. Needless to say, we are very happy with the location. But get this, the house was built in the early 1970's by a mason from Iowa. He sold the house to a coworker of mine and his wife in 1993, both born and raised in Iowa! And now we are taking over ownership, two more Iowan's!-No wonder the house is in such good shape. Here are a few pics. We move in at the end of July. Come stay with us soon.

I'm sure we'll add more pics later, once we move in. Until then, keep in touch. And Happy Father's Day.

Hi guys! Congrats on the house! How exciting!! I have a suggestion for the big girl bed situation. Get 2 of those long pool noodles at Wal-Mart and stick them under the mattress pad on both sides of the bed. We haven't had a spill yet. They're a life saver, and cheap to boot. Can't wait to see more pictures of the house...and kids of course.
