Weekend

We had nice weekend at home for once. We were hoping to get down to North Liberty to visit uncle John and aunt Rachae and also see our friend Kent race in a 30 mile mountain bike race. But Alesa and Halene got sick early in the week so we decided to take it easy at home.

On Saturday we got out on some backwaters of the Miss. just a couple of blocks from our place. Dad managed a couple of bass while Halene enjoyed her crackers and watched the herons, pelicans, kingfishers, egrets, gulls, eagles, and ospreys. This place is a really great "big bird" area. Mom took a couple of photos and made us all laugh at some jokes.



On Sunday we hiked at Great River Bluffs state park, just north of La Crosse on the MN side of the river. Halene was her usual cute self.
