Camping on Waterloo Creek

Saturday. It was a gorgeous fall morning - we suddenly thought - "yes, let's go camping tonight." We set up our little two-man tent near Waterloo Creek in Northeast Iowa. Halene loved it. Loved the tent, loved spending the evening outside, loved sleeping with ma and pa. She slept great all through the night. And her parents - less sleeping, mostly, we supressed our laughter through the night. Out tent is about the size of Halene's crib - she was all over the place. Kicking us both in the head, honking Dad's nose in the middle of the night, talking in her sleep, steamrolling us both.

Did I mention this was really a fishing trip?

Ha ha! And John thinks our 4-person tent won't be big enough for the two of us, the dog, and the kid. Maybe he's right...good thing we now have a 7-person mega car camping tent. :)

You've given us hope that canoeing and camping are possible with a 1.5 year old!

Keep the posts coming. I camped same spot on Thursday. The yotes were loud! Got cold in the morning. Scenery is only going to get better the next few weeks.
